Oak & Outline / Wood & design

A few useful answers

How to read, explore and use the Oak & Outline collection.

Where should I begin?

Begin with A stool side view, or choose any subject that is already familiar. There is no required reading order.

What do I need?

The suggested starting tools are a ruler and a sketchbook. Adapt the exercises to tools and materials you already understand.

Are the illustrations photographs?

No. Each image is an original vector drawing intended to explain a shape, relationship or visual idea.

Can I search the notes?

Yes. The journal page filters the six notes by text and by angle. The filtering happens in your browser.

Are my notes stored here?

No. The site has no account or note submission service. Keep your own records in a notebook or a file you control. The guide checklist resets on reload.

What if a comparison is uncertain?

Keep the uncertainty in the record. A useful question is often a better result than an unsupported explanation.
